Here’s what is most important to us in our hiring process:
- It needs to be efficient, and could be done within a couple weeks.
- It needs to remove any unconscious bias we might have.
- We recognize that interviewing is a two-way street where we both mutually learn about each other. During each step in the process, we will always reserve time to discuss anything you’re curious about and answer any questions you have about Airbyte and/or our team. Please ask questions!
Below are two general interview outlines for non-engineering & engineering roles. Because our processes slightly differ from role to role, please make sure you’ve received all the necessary information from our recruiting team!
Non-Engineering Role
Here’s what the process looks like for a non-engineering role:
- A first call with one of our recruiters, focusing on two key areas:
- Ensuring you will be a great cultural fit
- Aptitude for the role
- A 2nd call with the hiring manager
- Depending on the role, there will be 1 or 2 additional interviews with team members
- If we decide to move forward, we will do either:
- a 1-hour panel interview where you will be tasked to do a presentation on a particular topic in front of 3-4 interviewers.
- a written interview - here are several reasons why we're big fans of this kind of interview, the main reason being that it removes a lot of the bias people might have during live interviews ; plus, we mostly work asynchronously nowadays. -
- Once all of this is done, we will discuss the process internally and get back to you quickly (velocity is everything here!). So about two or three calls and one written/panel interview, and that's it!
- Offer & reference checks
Engineering Role
Now, here’s how the process goes for an engineering role:
- A first call with one of our recruiters, focusing on two key areas:
- Ensuring you will be a great cultural fit
- Aptitude for the role
- A second call with the hiring manager
- Three to Four “onsite” interviews with some members of our engineering team.
- Depending on the role, these interviews will consist of a mix of the following: Design, Coding, Management, Culture, Panel (presentation).
- A final call with one of our Executives to wrap up the process.
